Jessica Sierra, 21, a former American Idol contestant was arrested and charged in Tampa, Florida for several different charges including aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, cocaine possession and introduction of contraband into a detention facility. She was busted at Tampa’s Hyde Park Café after allegedly throwing a heavy cocktail glass at a fellow patron’s head. A 10th place Idol finisher in 2005 and as of most recently has been working at a Hooter’s Restaurant. Talk about your fall from grace.

The police claimed that she was very uncooperative and that she tried to kick the windows out of the patrol car during her arrest where they had to threaten to put leg restraints on her. After her arrest on the battery charge, she was hauled in, at which point the cops searched her purse and allegedly found a small bag of cocaine in her possession. She reportedly denied that the drugs were hers, but also claimed that the purse in which the baggie was found had not been out of her hands all day, well there’s a contradiction for you…

Richard Gere’s now famous public display of affection in India has netted him an arrest warrant after he laid a big smacker on Shilpa Shetty. Public displays of affection are largely considered to be taboo in India where the population is much more conservative.

A formal complaint was filed by an Indian resident and the presiding judge called Gere’s advances “an obscene act”. This was after residents of Bombay protested in the streets and burned effigies of the 57 year old movie celebrity. Shilpa Shetty, 31, has also been asked to appear in court over the charges filed. Under Indian law, a person convicted of public obscenity faces up to three months in prison, a fine or both. Shetty has defended Richard saying that it was done innocently and that he was just re-enacting a scene from the film “Shall We Dance”.

Richard Gere, star of films such as Chicago and Pretty Woman, is a Buddhist and travels to India frequently to visit the Dalai Lama, who lives in exile in the north of the country.

I wonder if Richard will show up to face the charges? You go Richard! Not bad for a blue hair!

Alec Baldwin, 49, issued a public apology concerning his scathing tirade against his daughter, Ireland, yesterday. He and his ex-wife, Kim Basinger, have been involved in a protracted and bitter custody battle since their divorce in 2002. His brutish remarks were recorded and released by TMZ.com for public consumption and it may end up causing him to lose his suit for custody.

Baldwin wrote on his website: “Although I have been told by numerous people not to worry too much, as all parents lose their patience with their kids, I am most saddened that this was released to the media because of what it does to a child,” he wrote. “I’m sorry, as everyone who knows me is aware, for losing my temper with my child. I have been driven to the edge by parental alienation for many years now. You have to go through this to understand. (Although I hope you never do.) I am sorry for what happened. But I am equally sorry that a court order was violated, which had deliberately been put under seal in this case.”

“In such public cases, your opponents attempt to take a picture of you on your worst day and insist that this is who you are as a person”. “Outside the doors of divorce court, I have friends, I have respect from people I work with and I have a normal relationship with my daughter. All of that is threatened whenever one enters a court room.”
